Driveways & landscaping
Practical, inviting outdoor spaces, from patios and planting to driveways, fencing and complete garden makeovers.
Driveways & landscaping
First impressions and outdoor living.
The front of a house is the first thing people see, and the garden is where you spend summer evenings. Both deserve the same care as the inside.
We build driveways, patios, paths, steps, walls, fencing and complete garden layouts, with drainage and levels thought through so surfaces stay sound.

Good to know
Things to know before you start
General guidance for homes in England. Rules change and every property is different, so check your own position with your council or adviser.
Front garden paving
In England, paving more than 5 m² of a front garden usually needs planning permission unless the surface is permeable or drains to a lawn or border.
Dropped kerbs
A new vehicle crossing over the pavement needs permission from the council, which normally arranges or approves the kerb work.
Drainage and levels
Surfaces need to fall away from the house and drain properly, or water ends up against the walls.
Boundaries
Check where the boundary is before replacing a fence or wall, and talk to your neighbour if it is shared.
Questions
Frequently asked
Do I need planning permission for a new driveway?
For a front garden, not usually if the surface is permeable or drains into a lawn or border. A non-permeable surface over 5 m² generally needs permission. A new dropped kerb always needs council approval.
Can you redesign my whole garden?
Yes. We build complete garden layouts including patios, paths, lawns and planting beds.
Do you build retaining walls?
Yes. Taller retaining walls may need an engineer's design, which we will discuss during the visit.
What does a new driveway cost?
It depends on the area, the surface and what needs to be dug out. We give you a written outline and costs after a visit.
